About me

Hi there, I’m Lisa, a Textile artist based in Herefordshire, UK. Here I am with my third, and most demanding, child!

Where did the sewing begin?

I was lucky enough to have a very creative Mum, who dabbled in every craft imaginable, so I was always encouraged to make whatever I wanted. Add to this her love of jumble sales, auctions and a reluctance to throw anything away ‘in case we might need it’ and you will begin to understand the nostalgic influence in my work.

For a while, stitching was more practical; making things to wear or saving money on buying new soft furnishings. Then I used my skills to have fun running craft workshops. Popping up in schools, village halls and even the woods to encourage others to have a go.

Last year I had my first exhibition, creating a collection inspired by my Great-Grandmother Nellie and her beautiful cottage garden. My head is still full of ideas around this theme so Nellie’s Potting Shed has moved online with a permanent home on the website for 2025.

I will create more pieces for this collection, and open up the order books for a few commissions.
